General Guidelines
PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS
All travellers including Canadians, Americans, and British nationals need a valid passport, a visa, and a valid return ticket to their destination of origin. All visitors must obtain a registration card upon arrival in Ghana, which requires two passport photographs. For convenience, try to have the two passport photographs prior to your trip.
Visas can be obtained from a Ghana embassy or high commission located in the countries below. Tintoye Tours also provides a visitors visa application service to travellers.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Visitors are encouraged to obtain medical insurance and vaccinations prior to their trip. Insurance should cover medical evacuation and preventative vaccinations should be obtained for yellow fever (certificate mandatory), cholera, typhoid and polio, malaria, and hepatitis.
Visitors are advised to buy bottled drinking water when in Ghana. All food should be eaten cooked and hot, and be weary of purchasing food from street vendors. Carry anti-diarrhrea tablets just in case.
Good medical facilities are found in all the cities and major towns, but facilities outside urban areas are poor and emergency services are limited.
From a personal safety standpoint, it is wise to be vigilant at all times. As a visitor, Ghanaians will realize you are a tourist and will assume you can afford to pay more when shopping or may be in possession of valuable goods.
CLOTHING
Ghana has a tropical climate all year round therefore it is advisable to wear light washable cotton clothing and casual wear. Women should avoid mini skirts if possible.
